MIA to Key West Private Transfer

Private door-to-door SUV from MIA down the Overseas Highway to Key West. One-way flat fare $600 for up to five riders.

The fare to Key West

Key West is the longest run we make, and the price reflects the real road miles down the island chain rather than a meter ticking in traffic. You choose the vehicle class and the fare is fixed before you ride, one way, per vehicle:

  • Black SUV (up to 5): $600
  • Van (6 to 9): $800
  • Van (10 to 14): $1,000

Those are one-way numbers. On most of our routes a round trip is simply the one-way doubled, but Key West has its own same-day round-trip product that comes in under double: $1,000 in the SUV, $1,200 in the six-to-nine van, and $1,400 in the ten-to-fourteen van. Two separate one-way SUV bookings would total $1,200, so if your plan is to go down and come back in the same day, the round-trip package is the cheaper way to do it.

Pickups before 7 AM or after 6 PM

Key West sits outside the Miami-area night box, so an after-hours pickup adds $50 to the SUV for any ride starting before 7:00 AM or after 6:00 PM. Vans add 10 percent of their one-way instead, which works out to $80 more on the six-to-nine and $100 on the largest van. Plenty of Key West travelers actually want an early start to get ahead of the afternoon slowdown on US-1, so the early-morning fee is worth weighing against a calmer drive.

The drive down the Overseas Highway

From Miami International the route runs south on the Turnpike and US-1 through Florida City, then out across the 18-Mile Stretch onto Key Largo, where the Overseas Highway begins. From there it is one road, US-1, threading roughly 160 miles of bridges and small islands: Islamorada, then Marathon, then the long span of the Seven Mile Bridge, Big Pine Key with its miniature Key deer, and finally Old Town at mile marker zero. Plan on about three and a half hours of driving, closer to three hours forty when the road cooperates.

The honest thing to know about this stretch is that US-1 runs a single lane each way for long distances, so one fender-bender ahead can stall everyone behind it. That is the main reason we favor an early departure. Your driver knows the passing zones, the fuel stops, and where to pull off if you want ten minutes at Robbie’s or a leg-stretch on Bahia Honda.

Getting into Old Town

Key West arrivals are their own puzzle. Old Town is a grid of narrow one-way lanes, and many guesthouses sit on streets a rideshare will not attempt. Because you have one vehicle and one driver for the whole trip, we take you to the actual door, whether that is a Duval Street hotel, a lane off Whitehead, or a rental near the Historic Seaport. We collect the exact drop-off address at booking so the driver already has the approach mapped.

What the fare covers

Tolls on the Turnpike, fuel for the full round of driving, and the driver’s return trip are all inside the price you see. The vehicle is yours alone, never shared with another party. Every rider gets one carry-on free, and larger loads still fit an SUV as long as passengers plus big bags stay at ten or fewer; the vans hold much more. Traveling with a car seat? The first is free and each additional seat is $20. Gratuity is not included, though it is always welcome.

Booking your ride

Reserve on this page by entering your pickup and drop-off and paying by card, or send the trip over WhatsApp. We need at least 12 hours’ notice. If you are flying in, add your flight number and we set the pickup from your real arrival plus 40 minutes, tracking the flight so the driver adjusts for free if you land late. Changes such as an added passenger or a child seat are welcome up to 12 hours before pickup, and you can cancel for a refund up to 24 hours out.

Questions about the Key West run

How long does the drive really take?

Roughly three and a half hours each way, or about three hours forty in light traffic. Afternoons and holiday weekends run longer because US-1 bottlenecks, which is why an early pickup is the safer bet.

Is the same-day round trip cheaper than two one-ways?

Yes. Two one-way SUV fares would total $1,200; the same-day round-trip SUV product is $1,000. The van packages save even more against doubling.

Can the driver stop along the Keys?

Sure. An extra stop is $45 and covers up to 30 minutes of waiting; beyond that it is $1.50 per additional minute. Many riders build in a quick stop for lunch or photos on the way down.

What if my flight into Miami is delayed?

Give us the flight number at booking and the pickup time follows the aircraft. If you land late, the driver is still there at no added cost.

Will my luggage fit for a week in Key West?

An SUV handles five riders comfortably when passengers and big bags together come to ten or fewer. Hauling more than that points you to the six-to-nine or ten-to-fourteen van, or send a WhatsApp and we will size it for you.
